In only two short years since forming, the DIY-band, 5-piece pop-rockers RadioDriveBy have made a name for themselves, haven performed with bands such as Forever the Sickest Kids, He Is We, This Century, and The Dangerous Summer, and are due to drop their second EP On Your Way, this Friday, March 2, at midnight. From their debut EP Nothin’ But Better, released in June 2011, to On Your Way, it’s clear that RadioDriveBy knows how to deliver a series of pop-rock tunes that make you want to roll down your car’s windows and just drive.

Inspired by bands such as Blink 182 and Jimmy Eat World, it’s easy to hear their influences meshed in to their own unique pop-rock indie sound on their latest album. The four track EP opens with “Desiree”, which is the highlight of the album for me. This catchy song is more than just your routine run of the mill track about love but one that interweaves a message how easy it is for people to forget just how short life is and to take your time in living it.

Pop driven “Where Your Heart Belongs” starts with a chorus of catchy ‘da da da’s and is exactly what you expect it to be, a melodic fun love song that doesn’t try to be anything it’s not. It’s easy to look past it’s cliche rhymes and just enjoy the song that was born to be belted out at the top of your lungs. Featured artist Steff Koeppen’s soft vocals really bring the song to life and contrasts perfectly with lead singer Trent Clark’s.

The EP looses a bit of it’s steam with the third track “What You Need”. A bit harder and the most rock on the album, it’s a song you’ve definitely heard before. Though it’s hook is still able to reel the listener in, it fades a bit in to oblivion on a very much strong sampler.

The last track, and the previous released single “Sunday”, takes the listener down a notch with it’s acoustic melody and heart wrenching lyrics. It’s the perfect album closer which leaves you rooting for the voice behind the music and left me wanting more.

Overall, On Your Way is the perfect EP that shows off just what RadioDriveBy’s is all about. Whether it’s an acoustic track, a catchy pop number, or a rock anthem, we can’t wait to hear what’s next. These Arizona dreamers are definitely ‘on their way’.
