Diamond Youth had an extremely successful 2012, but are looking to improve in 2013! Check out Sam Trapkin’s New Year’s resolutions!

Meet a Nice Woman
You know, it’s about time I get my act together. I’ve been single for 5 years now. Why? because I’m really good at not having a girlfriend. Actually, I would consider myself an expert. But if someone asked me to build a motorcycle engine for them, I’d have to tell them that although that sounded interesting, I only have one box of tools, but I haven’t used them in 5 years, and they were really shitty 5 years ago, so they’re probably even worse now. I’d imagine that being in a relationship now would go something like that.

Be More Empathetic
I really just don’t know what to say to people sometimes. Like, if someone really cares about sports or something, and they want to talk about that…I know it’s really important to them, but I genuinely can’t imagine how or why.

Make More Things
Sometimes I feel like I spend too much time thinking about what I want to make and not enough time actually making things. Most notable musicians/artists tend to die around my age (I’ll be 27) so I need to step on it before my time is up.

Stop Acting Like An Old Person
Left to my own devices, I gravitate towards any prospects of solitude, quietness, or reading time. I talk a big game about staying young and not bending to the pressures of adulthood that people impose on themselves. I need to take more risks and say “yes” more.

Learn How To Talk
Hearing myself talk is really unsettling. I have a gross Maryland accent and apparently I sound like a “valley girl” too.

Control My Neck Fat
When I was a teenager, the angle between my neck and chin was 90º. Now it’s like 60º. I don’t know what’s going on down there, but it needs to slow down.
