With the school year winding down and the temperatures rising, Summer 2014 approaches quicker than ever. The lack of papers to write and tests to take signal only a few things; one of those being the endless amounts of movies we’re all going to see in theaters.
Here’s nine of them you definitely should not miss!
9. Think Like A Man Too – June 20, 2014
Following the 2012 comedy, starring the hilarious Kevin Hart, Think Like A Man Too’s storyline is about a wedding and the pre-wedding festivities that take place in Las Vegas. With the ladies and the gentlemen attempting to out-party one another, the outcome isn’t looking very pretty. The punch lines and the antics, however, make sitting through this sin-city weekend worth it.
8. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For – August 22, 2014
Star-studded, pseudo-animated action film based on Frank Miller’s “A Dam to Kill For,” this film is the story of a man who gets involved in an adventurous, blood-pumping chase with his former lover and a few other characters in their town.
7. Twenty-two Jump Street – June 13, 2014
Speaking of sequels, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are back to solve another drug case but this time, they’re undercover in college. As they immerse themselves into the on-campus experience, the dynamic duo realize that their task at hand may not be easy as easy as it looks on TV.
6. X-Men: Days of the Future Past – May 23, 2014
There is a lot at stake for this upcoming addition to the X-Men chronicles as the previous ones were incredibly solid. With Nicholas Holt, Academy Award-winning, Jennifer Lawrence, and a whole lot more, X-Men fans can expect an even more innovative twist to the already-futuristic saga as the team attempts to prevent an untoward future from ensuing.
5. Transformers 4: Age of Extinction – June 27, 2014
With the direction of Michael Bay, the fourth Transformers movie revolves around the steadfast presence of the Autobots and Decepticons on earth. Starring Mark Wahlberg and his crew battle it out as a new type of transformer attempts to break the peace that the humane transformers have fought long and hard to maintain.
4. Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return – May 9, 2014
The timeless tale of the Wizard of Oz returns as Dorothy tries to save what has been left of Oz after the tornado that sends her there. With a new villain, the Jester attempting to put Oz under his control, Dorothy makes new friends who are willing to help her out save the day.

2. Malificent – May 30, 2014
From the classic Disney movie, Sleeping Beauty, antagonist Malificent comes to life as the story of how her heart turns cold unfolds. Malificent, like most Disney princesses, was raised with kindness and love until she was betrayed. Starring the famous Angelina Jolie, this Disney classic with a dark twist is surely something to look forward to.
1. The Fault In Our Stars – June 6, 2014
Surprise, surprise! Based on the best-selling novel by John Green, the much-anticipated movie adaptation of this tale of love and heartbreak involves a young couple that inevitably falls in genuine love with one another after meeting at their support group facility. Scored by members of indie rock band, Bright Eyes, this movie is expected to tug millions of heartstrings and cause a sudden increase of Kleenex sales. I won’t even say any more. You’ll just have to see it for yourself, okay? Okay.
