The Met Gala was last night in New York and the stars came dressed to impress just as usual. If you’re unfamiliar with the event, it’s an extremely exclusive fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. A-listers come out in full force draped in couture fashion. This is the one night of the year where more is actually more. This year young Hollywood took over our best-dressed group and showed us that they are fresh and hot.
4. Cara Delevingne
Our favorite too-cool-for-school model thought outside the box with her strappy top and pant combo. Her hairstyle and jewelry kept the outfit dressy while her skin-bearing top oozed style and edge. In a world where ball gowns took over, Cara made it her own with this look. She landed at #4 on the list but we know she’s always #1 in our hearts. (Check out that ear tat! She’s too awesome.)
3. Emma Stone
Emma, Emma, Emma. Always so cool. Always so effortless. The funny girl kept her look simple but vibrant (which is why she landed on this list!). The pink-on-pink is such a fun color combo and the back of that top is to die for. Pairing a slightly cropped top with a high leg slit allowed her to show off skin while still remaining cute and not overly sexy. While this isn’t the most outrageous look given the occasion, Emma had to make the list for the sheer fact that she just looked so dang good.
2. Kendall Jenner
Kendall Jenner has been on her fashion A-game these past few months and has yet to truly fail us. She stunned in this satin mermaid-style gown and exaggerated hair. The retro vibe from the silhouette and her pearl necklace complemented her well as it aged her just enough to look elegant and mature. Kendall looked like a human Barbie and it was unreal to see. Can’t wait to see what she wears next!
1. Hailee Steinfeld
The belle of the ball without a doubt was Hailee Steinfeld. The young actress took the event for what it was and ran with it all the way to #1 of our list. Hailee’s voluptuous skirt and retro black and white palette were the perfect things for something like the Met Gala. The gown had some hidden interest in the back with the buttoned racer back and tuxedo-like shapes. The simple hairdo and satin heels were understated just enough not to overpower the look altogether but still pair nicely.
Until next year…
