Australian rockers THEART kick off their U.S. tour in Las Vegas, N.V. with Faster Pussycat, and check in with Naked to let us know that, yes, they’re still alive, and yes, this shit is about to get crazy.

Ronnie Simmons: I’m sitting in the front lounge of the tour bus on the way to Pennsylvania from Miami, high up in the hills of West Virginia. Snow is falling from the sky and kissing the windows of the bus as us Aussies stare out the window with big grins on our faces. Snow!

Since my last entry, I think Jordan has covered some ground, we are alternating these entries. Another good way to keep up to date with all that happens is if you follow us on Instagram: @ronniesimmons, @azaria_byrne & @kara_jayne01 . Faster Pussycat embarked on The Monsters Of Rock Cruise in Ft. Lauderdale and alas The Art could not get aboard… so we were left with 4 days off, a tour bus and a driver in Florida during Spring Break. Haha! We cruised down by the beach and checked things out, the beach to an Aussie is not as bigger deal as seeing snow. We have a lot of beaches and it’s a part of our culture most people love, me personally and honestly? I’m more of a sit in the shade with my guitar and a whiskey kind of guy, but having not showered in so bloody long even I went swimming. Walking about in nothing but my Aussie flag board shorts was amusing, a local at a truck stop dubbed me “the tattooed monster” which Danny approved of haha. Ft. Lauderdale for us in all honesty wasn’t that exciting, lots of really old people and bad dance music. So we headed to South Beach in Miami, now that was a bit more happening. Still lots of shitty dance music though. I cruised around checking out some tattoo shops which was fun, but it’s just not a place for me I think. After one day off I was itching to get back on the bus and get to a gig, and without sounding tragically sentimental I was missing the Pussycat family.

Before entering the bus one afternoon I heard the unmistakable whir of a tattoo machine, we got on and there’s our driver Daniel tattooing himself. He had a full set up in the bus lounge and was tattooing his arm, it was like “you tattoo?!” I can foresee everyone getting a ‘Homesick’ tattoo somewhere along the line. From the tours driver too? That’s pretty damn cool. Homesick by the way is the title of our upcoming single we recorded in Hollywood with Rick Parker. We are currently listening over the final mixes of it and it sounds killer, Jordan and I are especially excited for it to get released as it’s the first recording the bands done with both of us playing on it. So stay tuned for that!

No gigs to currently report unfortunately, we are in day 2 of transit, Faster Pussycat seemed to have had a blast on the boat. I told all my Aussie friends to go say hi and the band are all amazed at how friendly they all are. Drew was like “there was this tattooed chick who looked like you!” haha Saxony 😉

Last night we stopped at a truck stop where there were restaurants in Charlotte. Ace, Jen, Chad, Drew and I went to a Wicked Wings joint and I got happily drunk and we spun Kiss tunes on the jukebox until closing. It’s so cool that you can roll off a bus on the road and just create a party. America rocks. Tonight Chad is going to cook for us in PA and show me his Kiss pinball machine, THAT I’m excited about. It’s been a nice couple of days off but days off aren’t really my style, I miss the stage too much. Talk to “y’all” soon!
