If you live in the tri-state area and have amazing taste in music, you have absolutely no excuse – I want to see you at Skate and Surf 2014! The Skate and Surf festival is a New Jersey based festival featuring every type of artist from ska to punk rock to pop punk to rap, and it’s making a comeback. Last year, Skate and Surf replaced Bamboozle, Jersey’s annual beach-side music festival, taking place at Six Flags Great Adventure. This year Skate and Surf returns to the good ol Jersey Shore in Asbury Park, which is home to the original Bamboozle and Skate and Surf itself. So here’s the low-down, and I better see you there!
Skate and Surf is on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18.
Headliners on Saturday include Soasin with Anthony Green, Midtown, Jake Miller, and Kid Ink.
Headliners on Sunday include New Found Glory (personal favorite!), Alkaline Trio, and Circa Survive.
Tickets are still available for two-day passes or one day passes.
The entire festival will take place on the Asbury Park oceanfront (amazing if you’ve never been.) Asbury Park is home to The Stone Pony, another wonderful music venue, Asbury Lanes, and a bunch of other wonderful boardwalk-like things. If you’re over 21, make sure to go down to the casinos on the boardwalk!
Other notable acts include:
(Saturday): Emmure, I See Stars, Radio Smash, Youth in Revolt, and Huey Mack.
(Sunday): We Came As Romans, The Acacia Strain, Fit For A King, and Mod Sun.
Still want more after the music is done? Afterparties include: Asbury Lanes, Langosta Lounge, and the Asbury Park Yacht Club – they go until 2:00AM! The festival starts at 2:00PM and ends at 10:00PM and it’s sure to be a good time – but coming from a local, (okay, so I live twenty minutes away, but same thing) here’s a quick tip: Stay safe!
Have fun and I’ll see you there – tweet me if you’re going! (Alison) @supersilvy
