Our favorite Arizona boys, My Girl Friday, are busy writing their follow-up to last year’s American Kids. We stole a little bit of bassist Ryan Steele’s time to talk about his biggest fear. Check out what he had to say!

I could try to come off as a real “manly man” and tell you I’m not afraid of anything, but that wouldn’t be entirely true. I definitely have a case of aichmophobia. I’ll tell you what this means so you don’t have to Google it. “Aichmophobia (pronounced [īk-mō-fō′bē-ă]) is the morbid fear of sharp things, such as, needles, knives, a pointing finger, or even the sharp end of an umbrella.” I can’t say I’ve ever been afraid of an umbrella, a pointing finger, or even a knife, but yeah; a needle scares the shit out of me. Every time I have to get a shot at the doctor’s office, I seem to faint uncontrollably. It’s kind of embarrassing. So, yeah. That’s my fear, my phobia, and my worst enemy. You can only guess how I feel about bees and wasps…
