There’s not really anything like a Bleachers show. After a string of sold out shows across the country, Bleachers brought it back to their current borough of residence and closed out the Gone Now Tour in Brooklyn at Brooklyn Steel on Tuesday night. As soon as Jack Antonoff walked on stage, there was an apparent shift in energy from the crowd. It was as if a switch was flipped and everyone woke up. Throughout the entire set – which included 19 songs including a Tom Petty cover and a quick homage to Jack’s old band, fun. – the entirety of the room was singing and dancing, from the front row to the balcony. There was not a single lull in the set, and despite the fact that New York City crowds tend to feature a lot of crossed arms, it appears not even New Yorkers are too cool for a Bleachers show.
