In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day this month, pop-punk vocalist Colleen D’Agostino of The Material dishes about the best or worst luck in her entertainment career. Check out what she had to say!¬†

Well I am not sure I believe in luck, but in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day (and having a super Irish first name ūüôā ) I would have to say the best luck we’ve ever had as a band was winding up on the MTV Dew Circuit Breakout.¬†¬†We had¬†just released our very first EP in September 2007, and our guitarist Jon was home sick with¬†a¬†really bad¬†flu.¬†¬†On a whim he signed¬†us up for this MTV contest and somehow we were lucky enough to be picked¬†as one of¬†the top bands!¬† From there we promoted like crazy and did everything we could to push our little local band into the spot light.

A few months later we were voted one of the top 3 finalists and MTV flew us out to New York City to perform live on national TV.  It was by far one of the scariest, yet coolest moments of my life.  That contest changed everything and gave us the motivation to keep pursuing our music careers.  So, in the end, I guess we have Jon to thank for his bad luck of getting sick, and all the good luck it brought us!
