We’ve seen it all the time lately, really great books being turned into really great movies. We have the obvious ones like Harry Potter, Twilight, and The Hunger Games right now. I often find myself watching a movie, and then later discovering that it was, in fact, a book before it became a movie! So here are five great movies, whose book you should definitely read.

We’ve all seen the movie, and we all felt that sense of pride when Ginnifer Goodwin realized she was the exception. This book is a self help guide to guys! It’s your instruction guide to relationship issues.

The Oscar nominated movie that had everyone talking a couple years ago was a five-year effort by author Kathryn Stockett. The movie was drama filled and heart wrenching, much like the book that inspired it. Emma Stone plays a perfect Skeeter in the film, who you fall even more in love with in the book.

I put in a throwback in here since it is Thursday! The movie starring Cameron Diaz was a tear jerker about two sisters who couldn’t help being sisters. Warning: You will need a tissue when reading.

Of course this had to make my list. If you’re like me, before this movie came out, you had never read the book, get on it. If you loved the movie, the book triples the love you had for it. Emma Watson does a perfect job creating a Sam that translates from the book to the movie flawlessly.

This movie comes out in June of this year so we have time to read before seeing it. I’m guilty of not having read it yet, but I’m well on my way to do so! Just like “Perks”, The Fault In Our Stars is a bestseller with a dedicated fanbase that is anticipating the movie’s release. So don’t get behind and grab the book, because everyone you know has probably already told you to read it!
