Kelsea Ballerini has been celebrating a series of “firsts” since her debut album (appropriately dubbed The First Time) was released in May 2015. She had her first No. 1 song (and second… and third…), played her first stadium and is currently embarking on her first cross-country headlining tour. But last night in New York City, Kelsea crossed off another first – the first time a fire alarm has gone off during her set. Mid-way through the country singer’s new song “High School”, alarms began going off in Irving Plaza. After a 10-minute intermission, Kelsea returned to the stage and finished the second half of her set. The hour-long show consisted of Kelsea belting out her hits, shredding on electric guitar and drums, an intimate acoustic set, bringing fans on stage to dance and running upstairs to the balcony to sing “The First Time” surrounded by friends, family and teammates. And despite the unforeseen interruption, the sold out crowd kept their energy high and the room was buzzing with excitement the entire show. Check out some photos from Kelsea’s performance!
